1. What is the size of a typical workshop?
Our workshops are capped at 10 participants, creating an intimate setting that fosters a more engaging and productive learning environment. This small group size ensures everyone has the opportunity to participate in discussions, ask questions, and get the most out of the interactive learning experience.
2. Do I need any prior knowledge of Persian to participate?
- Absolute Beginners: Our “Let’s Learn Persian! (A1) Workshop” is perfect for you! Although familiarity with the Persian alphabet is needed for a smoother experience.
- Some Existing Knowledge: If you have some Persian knowledge and want to expand it, we recommend taking our free self-evaluation course to assess your level (A2, B1, etc.) and suggest the most suitable workshop. We may also conduct a brief placement assessment to ensure optimal learning for everyone.
- Literature Courses: These are designed for near-advanced learners with a solid foundation in Persian, including intermediate reading comprehension. This workshops caters to undergraduates, graduate students, researchers, professors, and anyone passionate about the language.
3. What payment methods do you accept?
Currently, we only accept direct bank transfers. However, we understand this might not be convenient for everyone. We are actively working on integrating with iyzico, a well-known Turkish payment gateway provider, which will allow you to pay using Visa and Mastercard cards in the near future.
4. Do you offer any discounts for group registration?
Absolutely! We offer group discounts to encourage language learning journeys together. Here’s the breakdown:
- Groups of 2-4: Enjoy a 15% discount on the total workshop fee.
- Groups of 5-7: Save 20% on the total workshop fee.
- Larger groups: For entire classrooms or organizations, please contact us directly for a personalized quote and discuss tailored learning solutions.

5. What is your refund policy?
Cancellation by Joy of Persian:
If Joy of Persian needs to cancel the workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we will issue a full refund of the workshop fee without any additional charges. We will notify you as soon as possible in such cases.
Participant Cancellations:
You have the flexibility to cancel your participation for any reason before the workshop starts. However, please note our refund policy:
- Cancellations received within 14 days of booking your place on the workshop will receive a full refund, minus banking and administration fees;
- Cancellations received after the 14-day cancellation period and earlier than 14 days before the start date of the workshop will receive 75% refund minus, banking and administration fees;
- Cancellations received after the 14-day cancellation period and earlier than 30 days before the start date of the workshop will receive 50% refund, minus banking and administration fees;
- Cancellations received after the 14-day cancellation period and later than 30 days before the start date of the Workshop will not be eligible for a refund.

To exercise your right to cancel, simply inform us in writing within the 14-day period. Here’s how:
Send an email to admissions@joyofpersian, with the subject line “Workshop Registration Cancellation”. Please include your full name and the name of the workshop you wish to cancel.
6. What are the in-workshop rules?
To ensure a productive and positive learning environment for everyone, we kindly ask participants to follow these guidelines:
- Technology and Access:
We use Zoom for our workshops. Meeting ID and password information will be sent to your email 10 minutes before the class begins.
Please ensure you have a stable internet connection and a device with Zoom installed to participate. - Attendance and Participation:
We encourage you to attend on time to get the most out of the workshop.
Unfortunately, due to the live, interactive nature of the workshops, we cannot offer cancellations, rescheduling, or refunds for late arrivals. However, you are still welcome to join the class in progress.
The workshop duration is based on the specific program and will not be adjusted based on individual participation. - Respectful Conduct:
We foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment. This means being considerate of your fellow students and instructor by refraining from behaviors like harassment, discrimination, or anything disruptive to the group experience.
Instructors reserve the right to remove participants who violate these guidelines. Please note that participants who are warned or removed from class for inappropriate behavior will not be eligible for a credit or refund. - Camera Usage:
Participation with your camera on is encouraged, but not mandatory.
7. Do your workshops offer certificates of completion?

While we don’t offer formal certificates at this time, you’ll gain valuable knowledge and skills that you can apply in your ongoing Persian language journey.

Absolutely! We’re happy to create a personalized workshop experience to explore your chosen Persian literature topic. To tailor the workshop to your needs, please provide us with some details:
- Topic of Interest: Let us know the specific area of Persian literature you’d like to delve into.
- Learning Goals: Do you have any specific learning objectives for the workshop? Is it for a university course, personal enrichment, or something else? If it’s for a course, any specific materials or evaluation criteria we should consider?
- Group Size: Knowing how many participants will be attending helps us plan accordingly.
- Timeline: Is there a specific timeframe you have in mind for the workshop?
- Investment: Custom workshops require an upfront investment. To prepare a personalized offer (including time, budget, and payment terms), please provide a general idea of your investment range.
