This was an especially enjoyable lesson, because in addition to conversation, reading and vocabulary, we also had a wonderful mini-lesson in Persian literature (the 10th-century epic poem “Shanameh”). Leila is such a great teacher!

He has presented papers on opera and film music history, with research interests in musical aesthetics and the intersection of music with literature and poetry.
